About The Position

Reed Restaurant Repair is seeking experienced commercial refrigeration technicians to join their team. The company emphasizes strong support for technicians, efficient operations, and reliable year-round work. Technicians will work on various commercial kitchen equipment, including refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, and cooking equipment. While prior hot-side cooking equipment experience is not required, strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential, and full training will be provided for those with these skills.

Requirements

• Completed an accredited HVAC/R Trade School Program PLUS at least 1 full year of independent field service experience (residential or commercial) OR 5+ years of hands-on commercial service experience in the field.
• Must own and provide own standard hand tools, meters, and diagnostic gauges.
• Current Universal EPA certification is mandatory.
• Ability to read schematics, run low-voltage diagnostics, test motors, check superheat and subcooling, and troubleshoot commercial systems.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean, insurable motor vehicle record.
• Dependable, professional mindset, high pride in craftsmanship, and great communication with customers and dispatch.

Nice To Haves

• No prior commercial hot-side cooking equipment experience required--if you have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, we will fully train you on hot side!

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial service calls at restaurants, hospitality venues, and commercial kitchens.
• Troubleshoot low-voltage wiring, mechanical failures, compressor burnouts, TXVs, and airflow issues.
• Make real repairs on commercial refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, and foodservice equipment.
• Submit parts requests through work orders.
• Communicate directly and honestly with kitchen managers and restaurant owners.
• Complete job notes on a tablet.
