About The Position

Kelso Industries, through its subsidiary DHR Mechanical Services, is seeking a Commercial Refrigeration Foreman / Lead Installer. DHR Mechanical Services, founded in 1997, is a leading provider of commercial refrigeration and HVAC installation services across the Southeast, serving major supermarket, cold storage, warehouse, and retail clients. The company specializes in supermarket refrigeration installations and remodels, rack refrigeration systems, display cases, walk-in coolers/freezers, and EMS/controls integration. This role involves leading commercial refrigeration installations, managing and leading field crews, coordinating jobsite operations, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance. The position requires tracking project progress, including labor, material, and equipment records, and monitoring progress to support schedule and budget adherence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial refrigeration installation experience
  • 2+ years in a Foreman, Lead Installer, Superintendent, or Crew Lead role
  • Strong experience installing supermarket rack refrigeration systems
  • Strong experience installing refrigerated display cases
  • Strong experience installing walk-in coolers/freezers
  • Strong experience installing refrigeration piping and brazing
  • Strong experience installing EMS / refrigeration controls
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to read and interpret refrigeration schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Proven track record leading installation crews and delivering projects on schedule
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to travel weekly throughout the Southeast

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience with supermarket remodels and retrofits
  • Experience coordinating multi-trade construction projects

Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation of supermarket/commercial refrigeration systems including rack systems, display cases, walk-ins, piping, EMS, and electrical components
  • Perform hands-on installation work as needed alongside field crews
  • Direct daily activities of installers and subcontractors
  • Delegate work assignments and monitor productivity
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior installers
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project managers, general contractors, and other trades
  • Coordinate scheduling and sequencing of work to maintain project timelines
  • Enforce OSHA, company safety standards, and jobsite cleanliness
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, project specifications, and applicable codes
  • Maintain labor, material, and equipment records
  • Monitor project progress to support schedule and budget adherence
