About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets in Walmart facilities. The technician uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work. The role includes responding to emergency maintenance calls, documenting repairs in the work order management system, and following safety and environmental regulations and guidelines. The position requires frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds, moving up and down ladders, and working at heights. A work vehicle and tools are provided. Compensation is listed as $56,160–$106,080, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus available at select locations and eligibility for bonus incentives. Individual compensation depends on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and job-related considerations.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC maintenance.
Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
Type I, Type II, or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for refrigerant handling.
Valid state-issued driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, tools, and other equipment.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training for safe operation of equipment and tools.
Perform work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines, and Walmart refrigeration and HVAC safety and environmental procedures.
