About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repairs to refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete repairs and maintenance. The technician uses a work order management system to receive requests and document repair activities, responds to emergency maintenance calls, and inspects, operates, or tests equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues. The role requires completing safety training and performing work in accordance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines. The position involves lifting up to 75 pounds, using ladders, and frequently working at heights. The listed salary range is $56,160–$106,080. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is currently offered for select locations, and the role is eligible for bonus incentives. Individual compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Walmart provides a work vehicle and tools.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration/HVAC maintenance.
Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Valid state-issued driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report.
At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and appropriate tools and equipment.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines, as well as Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines.
