About The Position

The Hilb Group’s internship offers students hands-on learning and exposure to real-world projects at a growing insurance brokerage. Interns work with experienced team members, learn about business operations, and contribute to client support initiatives. The internship includes an opportunity to travel to the corporate office in Richmond, Virginia, to connect with fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event. The internship may lead to full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred majors include Risk Management & Insurance, Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Shadow Account Managers and participate in client-facing and internal meetings.
• Support data management initiatives and assist with special projects across teams.
• Collaborate with team members on day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.
• Learn the proposal process and present a proposal to the intern team at the end of the internship.
• Develop a foundational understanding of the insurance industry, brokerage operations, and client service models.
