About The Position

Advantage Flooring Services, a commercial flooring contractor serving Central Ohio, is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to produce accurate, competitive bids and support project teams. The company specializes in carpet, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, vinyl base, and related Division 9 work for commercial projects. The Estimator prepares detailed project estimates, reviews construction documents, performs quantity takeoffs and scope analysis, obtains vendor pricing, and assembles complete bid packages. The role coordinates with project managers, vendors, and general contractors, maintains estimating resources, and supports value engineering and continuous improvement. The position may involve attending pre-bid meetings and jobsite walks and traveling to sites within Central Ohio. Requirements

Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of commercial flooring products, installation methods, and industry standards.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within Central Ohio.
Strong communication skills for vendor and customer interaction.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of commercial flooring or Division 9 estimating experience; preferred.
Experience with custom estimate workbooks.
Experience with commercial flooring manufacturers such as Shaw, Mohawk, Interface, Mannington, Johnsonite, Mapei, or Ardex.
Familiarity with Ohio building codes, prevailing wage, and tax-exempt project requirements.
Background in project management or field installation.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates for commercial flooring projects, including carpet tile, broadloom, ceramic and porcelain tile, LVT/VCT, sheet vinyl, base, and related sundries.
Review drawings, specifications, and addenda; perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis.
Source material pricing from vendors and apply current labor rates, equipment, and delivery costs.
Build complete bid packages that include labor, material, freight, use tax, and other project costs.
Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and general contractors during the bidding process.
Maintain and update estimate templates, material databases, and pricing information.
Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsite walks as needed.
Support value engineering and alternate pricing when requested.
Track bid results and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.
