About The Position

Responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and timely facility services to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory. The technician travels daily between customer sites in a company van to maintain commercial properties, performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds. The role involves direct customer interaction and applying multiple trade skills—including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC—to resolve maintenance problems. The technician completes work orders, inspections, and reports; obtains materials and supplies; communicates with customers and internal support teams; and provides estimates for larger projects. Work is governed by business volume and contract schedules. The role requires compliance with applicable regulations, company procedures, OSHA standards, and safety requirements.

Requirements

Two to five years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Applicable certifications and licenses, and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and present information effectively in individual and small-group settings.
Ability to complete work orders promptly and communicate their status through designated business processes.
Ability to operate handheld devices and business systems or document-management database software, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
Ability to comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental-agency requirements, company directives, and work-safety requirements.
Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Ability to travel locally between properties daily.
Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in front of customers.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, degree, certification, or equivalent professional experience in landscaping, trades such as electrical, HVAC, or plumbing, or specialty floor care is preferred.
Background in landscaping, janitorial, or construction-related services is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete preventive maintenance and repairs according to work order requirements and applicable procedures, regulations, and safety standards.
Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including unclogging toilets and drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures as needed.
Perform routine painting and carpentry to maintain facilities, including drywall repair and paint matching.
Perform minor electrical maintenance permitted by state law without a license, including repairing or replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets.
Complete service and asset inspections as needed.
Use a tablet, smartphone, and business systems to access and complete work orders, document services, submit service reports and quality-inspection images and reports, and submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase-card logs.
Obtain materials and supplies needed to complete assigned tasks.
Build positive customer relationships, generate customer satisfaction, and maintain timely communications with customers and internal support teams.
Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings.
Provide estimates for larger projects and services needed by onsite customers.
Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
Complete other duties as assigned or required.
