About The Position

Great Lakes Service is seeking Commercial Kitchen Equipment (Hot Side) Service Technicians to serve customer locations in Illinois, Indiana, and surrounding areas. Technicians install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, providing timely service and strong customer support. The role includes maintaining a service vehicle, ordering parts, identifying customer and account opportunities, and participating in required after-hours and weekend on-call schedules.

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with swing shifts available. The company operates 24/7, and on-call hours are required. Pay is $25.00 to $50.00+ per hour, based on experience. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for qualifying technicians.

Requirements

• At least three years of prior experience in commercial kitchen repair or equivalent military technical roles.
• Electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills.
• Excellent customer communication skills.
• Successfully complete a drug screen and criminal background screening.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Driving record must align with the company's safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service and meet expectations on every service call.
• Complete service calls promptly.
• Identify new customers and opportunities within existing accounts.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call schedules.
• Maintain the service vehicle and order necessary parts.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance and lifting equipment.
