About The Position

Great Lakes Service is seeking Commercial Kitchen Service Technicians specializing in hot-side equipment to serve customer locations in Illinois, Indiana, and surrounding areas. Technicians install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment while providing prompt, customer-focused service. The role includes identifying opportunities within existing accounts, maintaining a service vehicle, ordering parts, and participating in after-hours and weekend on-call schedules. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM; swing shifts are also available. The company operates 24/7, and on-call hours are required. Pay is $25.00 to $50.00+ per hour, based on experience. Qualifying technicians may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Requirements

• At least three years of prior experience in commercial kitchen repair or equivalent military technical roles.
• Electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills.
• Excellent customer communication skills.
• Successfully complete a drug screen and criminal background screening.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Driving record must align with the company's safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service and meet expectations on every service call.
• Complete service calls promptly.
• Identify new customers and opportunities within existing accounts.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call schedules.
• Maintain the service vehicle and order necessary parts.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently with assistance and lifting equipment.
