About The Position

This role involves working with the Operations Support Manager to analyze departmental work processes, engage with stakeholders, and identify opportunities for automation or improvement. The goal is to make data more accessible and enhance overall data integrity for consolidation submissions, inspections, and other action items. The position also includes performing field visits, analyzing data using various tools, corresponding with team members, and supporting ad-hoc projects. This is an opportunity for students matriculating at an accredited college or graduate school to gain practical experience.

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
  • For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
  • For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations Support Manager to analyze departmental work processes.
  • Speak with stakeholders, especially within the department.
  • Help plan ways to automate or improve each process.
  • Make data more accessible for team members without a manual data product.
  • Improve the overall data integrity of consolidation submissions, inspections, and other action items.
  • Perform field visits with another team member as part of IAPs, general Operations work, or other initiatives.
  • Take notes during field visits and attend ongoing meetings.
  • Make updates or uploads after field visits.
  • Analyze data in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, and on occasion GIS or vehicle data.
  • Provide insight and assess the effectiveness of waste management operations.
  • Present and express findings in meetings using PowerPoint.
  • Correspond via e-mails, chat, phone calls, and video calls.
  • Work on diagrams, graphics, and other administrative work as needed and taught.
  • Support ad-hoc projects as needed.
