About The Position

American Disposal has an immediate opening for a Collections Representative based in Manassas, Virginia. The position involves contacting delinquent customers by phone and email, taking payments over the phone, arranging payment plans, and resolving service or billing problems. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The stated pay rate is $23–$25.

Requirements

• At least one year of credit and collections experience is highly preferred.
• At least one year of experience making heavy outbound collections calls is highly preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to speak a second language.

Responsibilities

• Make daily outbound calls and send emails regarding delinquent accounts.
• Manage automated calls and emails.
• Work with various departments to reach monthly collection goals.
• Handle difficult customers and escalated calls.
• Work with the Credit Supervisor to use the third-party collection agency.
• Maintain accurate notes in customer accounts.
• Assist customers with online payments.
• Provide customers with account recaps for billing disputes.
• Report results to management and escalate problem accounts.
• Take customer payments over the phone and set up payment arrangements.
• Resolve problems concerning service or billing.
