Colleague Health and Wellness RN - Registered Nurse - PRN
About The Position
Under the supervision and evaluation of the Colleague Health & Wellness Manager, the Colleague Health and Wellness RN assists in meeting the occupational health needs of MercyOne Northeast Iowa. The role adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs services and related duties in accordance with its mission, vision, and values. The nurse supports colleague infection control, investigates and helps reduce potential environmental hazards, performs health assessments, responds to occupational injuries and illnesses, and manages workers' compensation cases. The role also promotes wellness through health promotion activities. The position is PRN, with a day schedule Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license.
- At least 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience.
Nice To Haves
- Employee Health/Occupational Health experience is strongly preferred.
- BSN preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support colleague infection control, including TB surveillance, post-exposure follow-up and prophylaxis, respiratory fit testing, immunization administration, and compiling infection control data.
- Investigate and assist in reducing possible environmental hazards.
- Perform pre-placement history and physical assessments for new colleagues.
- Perform health assessments for current colleagues.
- Assess occupational injuries and illnesses and administer first aid.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, including OSHA log documentation.
- Promote a culture of wellness and perform health promotion activities.
