About The Position

The Coffee Clerk provides excellent customer service and supports department operations through product knowledge, product rotation, merchandising, shrink control, and safe work practices while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture. The role includes engaging with customers, promoting products and sales, maintaining stock and cleanliness, performing quality assurance checks, and following health, safety, and company policies. Other duties may be assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• No education or experience is required.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and associates.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Obtain Food Handler’s Certification as required by State Law; certification is provided at store level.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, adapt, and maintain attention to detail and high energy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Engage customers through suggestive selling and sampling.
• Learn and share product seasonality, uses, and taste.
• Perform quality assurance checks of the department.
• Promote sales.
• Handle and rotate products properly.
• Follow day-to-day operational procedures to maintain stock levels, inventory, and cleanliness.
• Promote and support established programs.
• Follow all Health Code guidelines.
• Work within company programs, policies, and procedures.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
