About The Position

The Coffee Clerk provides excellent customer service while gaining product knowledge, rotating and merchandising products, controlling shrink, and working safely while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture. The role includes customer engagement, product education, sales promotion, quality checks, and daily operational work to maintain stock, inventory, and cleanliness. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Education or prior experience is not required. Food Handler’s Certification is provided at store level as required by state law.

Requirements

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other associates.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Food Handler’s Certification as required by state law; provided at store level.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Adaptability.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described, including standing, walking, using hands, reaching, tasting, communicating, smelling, and lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Learn and use the three E’s: Engagement, Educate, Empowerment.
• Engage customers through suggestive selling and sampling.
• Learn the seasonality, use, and taste of products offered.
• Perform department quality assurance checks.
• Promote sales.
• Handle and rotate products properly.
• Follow daily operational procedures to maintain stock levels, inventory, and cleanliness.
• Promote and support established programs.
• Follow all Health Code guidelines.
• Work within company programs, policies, and procedures.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
