About The Position

The Coffee Clerk provides excellent customer service while supporting the daily operation of the coffee department. The role includes learning product knowledge, rotating and merchandising products, controlling shrink, maintaining stock and cleanliness, and working safely while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture. Associates use the three E’s—Engagement, Educate, and Empowerment—to engage customers through activities such as suggestive selling and sampling, and to share information about product seasonality, uses, and taste. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Food Handler’s Certification is provided at store level when required by state law.

Requirements

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and associates.
• Perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Prioritize and multitask; pay attention to detail; work in a fast-paced environment; solve problems; and demonstrate adaptability and high energy.
• Communicate and work effectively with customers and associates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use the three E’s: Engagement, Educate, and Empowerment.
• Engage customers through suggestive selling and sampling.
• Learn product seasonality, use, and taste.
• Perform quality assurance checks of the department.
• Promote sales and support established programs.
• Handle and rotate products properly.
• Follow day-to-day operational procedures to maintain stock levels, inventory, and cleanliness.
• Follow Health Code guidelines and company programs, policies, and procedures.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
