Cocktail Server
About The Position
The Cocktail Server serves drinks efficiently and properly for an assigned outlet. The role involves taking and entering drink orders, ensuring orders are accurate and meet customer specifications, suggesting beverages and promoting liquor and beer, and providing fast, attentive service. The server maintains assigned work areas, handles cash sales and required records, completes shift opening and closing procedures, and follows company service, quality, uniform, communication, and work-duty standards. The employee must be familiar with local liquor laws and identification procedures, current specials, Gulfstream Park property information, and Guest Services resources to assist guests.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Strong food, wine, and liquor knowledge.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with internal and external customers, including using patience, tact, and diplomacy to de-escalate difficult situations and gather information to resolve conflicts.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Florida slot license.
- Requires a Slot Combo General License.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at guest tables within minutes after guests are seated.
- Take drink orders and suggest beverages or upsell liquor and beer.
- Record drink orders accurately and ensure they are filled to customer specifications.
- Drop cash sales and maintain required records.
- Clear empty glasses, food trays, and other items from assigned work areas.
- Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and at the assigned workstation at the start of the shift.
- Enter orders into the computer and follow appropriate service timing and sequence.
- Know and follow local liquor laws and identification procedures.
- Complete all shift opening and closing procedures.
- Provide fast, accurate service and positive guest relations while ensuring products meet company quality standards.
- Stay informed about current food and drink specials, Gulfstream Park property information, and Guest Services resources to respond to guest inquiries.
- Stay informed about the week-to-week work schedule and changes made according to business needs.
- Follow department SOPs and policies concerning uniforms, communication, and work duties.
- Maintain the highest standards of customer service.
