About The Position

Ace Precision is seeking a CNC Turning Setup Machinist to perform full setups on CNC turning centers and complete complex machining operations. The role involves producing components for the aerospace, power generation, defense, and space industries, using advanced equipment and working with challenging materials. Machinists work with programmers and other team members to improve machining processes, maintain quality, and meet production needs. The position is based in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and is full-time on a second-shift compressed schedule of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday. Voluntary overtime is available.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least three years of related CNC experience.
Ability to hold tight tolerances on complex geometries, preferably on aerospace materials such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Proficiency with GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and in-process inspection methods.
Strong attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Perform full setups on CNC turning centers and complete complex machining operations.
Read and follow job routers, process control sheets, and engineered sketches, applying advanced GD&T and machining knowledge.
Independently troubleshoot machining issues, including chatter, surface-finish defects, dimensional drift, tool wear, and machine variances.
Collaborate with programmers to refine tool paths, optimize G-code, improve quality, and reduce cycle times.
Inspect critical features using micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM reports, and advanced metrology equipment.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Run multiple machines simultaneously to improve utilization.
Work collaboratively with the team to build quality products.
