About The Position

Ace Precision is hiring a CNC Milling Setup Machinist for its Oconomowoc, Wisconsin location. The role supports manufacturing precision sheet metal components and finished goods for the aerospace, power generation, defense, and space industries. The machinist sets up and operates multi-axis CNC mills, works with complex machining and tight tolerances, and collaborates with Programming, Engineering, and Quality to improve processes. The position is on the second shift, Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts. Voluntary overtime is available.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least three years of CNC setup experience.
Strong understanding of feeds and speeds, cutter paths, work holding, and tooling.
Ability to hold and inspect tight aerospace tolerances of ±0.001 inch or better.
Experience with G-code editing and troubleshooting machining issues.
Strong attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and a safety-first mindset.
Team-oriented approach and strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience machining aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, Inconel, or other aerospace alloys.
CAM experience, particularly Mastercam.
Prototype or high-mix/low-volume machining experience.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills to produce precision sheet metal components and finished goods.
Load tools, set offsets, verify programs, and produce quality parts.
Make on-machine edits to improve quality, efficiency, and tool life in accordance with the quality system.
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, CMM reports, and visual inspection.
Work with Programming, Engineering, and Quality on process improvements.
Maintain machine performance through routine cleaning and basic maintenance.
Follow quality system and safety rules.
Run multiple machines simultaneously to stay productive.
Collaborate with the team to build quality products.
