About The Position

A well-established, industry-leading manufacturer is hiring experienced CNC Setup Machinists for its second-shift team. The role involves independently setting up and operating CNC equipment to machine complex components to tight engineering tolerances. Machinists are expected to select tooling, establish offsets, prove out programs, troubleshoot machining challenges, and take ownership of their work. Initial training takes place on first shift; the regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Overtime is available and generally voluntary. Requirements

3–5+ years of CNC machining experience.
Strong hands-on CNC setup experience with mills and/or lathes.
Ability to independently read blueprints and work to tight tolerances.
Experience selecting tooling, setting offsets, and proving out setups.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Nice To Haves

CNC programming or machine-side editing experience.

Responsibilities

Independently set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup instructions.
Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment.
Establish tool offsets, work offsets, and machine reference points.
Perform program prove-outs, first-piece inspections, and in-process quality checks.
Machine complex components to tight engineering tolerances.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues.
Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and precision gauges.
Make machine-side adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency.
