About The Position

The CNC Setup Machinist will join the Short Run team and set up jobs from start to finish, including preparing workholding and jaws, setting up tools, and programming. The role also involves interpreting blueprints, operating CNC machines between setup tasks, coordinating with Quality and Engineering, meeting production and efficiency requirements, maintaining machines, and collecting and documenting data. Requirements

At least 3 years of CNC setup experience.
Proficiency in job setup, from initial stages through workholding and jaw preparation, tool setup, and programming.
Confidence interpreting blueprints.
Knowledge of and experience setting up lathes, mills, and machining centers.

Responsibilities

Set up jobs from start to finish, including machining jaws and workholding, tool setup, and programming.
Interpret blueprints.
Communicate with Quality and Engineering to ensure efficient and proper production runs.
Operate CNC machines between setup tasks.
Meet or exceed efficiency and production rate requirements.
Maintain machine mechanical integrity through maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
Collect and document data.
