REXA is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist / Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team to manufacture precision components and products. The ideal candidate can independently set up and operate CNC milling machines, read engineering drawings, select tooling and workholding, establish offsets, inspect parts, and troubleshoot machining issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of CNC milling setup and operating experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong blueprint reading and shop math skills
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and machining tolerances
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and basic machining practices
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines
  • Set cutting tools, part zero, and tool/work offsets
  • Install and set cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, vises, and other workholding equipment
  • Select appropriate tooling and machining methods
  • Perform machine dry runs and first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Use calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Make minor CNC program edits, including speeds, feeds, and offsets
  • Monitor tool wear and make adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, workholding, and machining problems
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
  • Work with Production, Quality, and Engineering to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Conduct routine machine preventative maintenance
