About The Position

Primus Aerospace is hiring a CNC Machinist for a first-shift mill role, with level (Machinist I, Machinist II, or Setup Machinist) assessed through resume review and interviews. The role involves operating and setting up CNC machining equipment to produce high-tolerance parts for aerospace, defense, and space programs. The listed base pay ranges are $22–$30 per hour for Machinist I, $25–$40 per hour for Machinist II, and $28–$42 per hour for Setup Machinist. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. Full-time employees are offered comprehensive benefits, which begin on the first day of the month after the hire date. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to comply with U.S. Government international trade regulations.

Requirements

Previous CNC operator experience or completion of technical school coursework.
Three years of machine setup experience for the Setup Machinist level.
Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools.
Knowledge of GD&T print reading, calipers, micrometers, metrology, indicating vices, and X, Y, and Z coordinates.
Self-starter with a good attitude.
Attention to detail and a strong desire to produce quality products.
Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a manufacturing environment using lean manufacturing techniques.
Previous experience in an aerospace or defense machining environment.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC machines according to work instructions provided in work orders or by setup personnel.
Read GD&T and blueprints and verify dimensional characteristics of parts.
Use metrology tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Indicate vices and coordinate X, Y, and Z axes.
Apply machining principles and meet expected cycle times and production schedules.
Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
Prioritize tasks and maintain production goals.
