About The Position

Jetstream of Houston, a subsidiary of Federal Signal, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with Nakamura Lathe experience for their 2nd shift operations. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe, required.
Ability to read and interpret Blueprints/Technical Drawing.

Nice To Haves

Twin spindle experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC Nakamura Lathe machines.
Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
Plan machine setups, position work pieces, and operate various CNC machines through production runs to form specified quantities of piece parts to specified tolerances.
Deburr parts as needed.
Monitor machine functions to ensure parts are manufactured to defined specifications.
Perform first piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to machines to ensure parts are formed to designated tolerances.
Complete inspection reports as required and repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance and ensure machines are operating optimally.
Communicate with managers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues.
Act as a subject matter expert and train co-workers as requested.
Document outstanding issues either written or verbally to ensure smooth transition between shifts.
Actively participate in continuous improvement of products and processes.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives and advise Production Supervisor of any maintenance problems.
Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Willing and able to work 2nd Shift (Hours: 3:30pm – 2:00am, Monday through Thursday).
