About The Position

Carlson Tool & Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Second Shift Lead Lathe Machinist to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to utilize advanced CNC skills, lead and mentor a team, and work in a modern, dynamic environment supporting high-impact industries. The position is full-time, second shift, in a clean, well-equipped facility where precision and attention to detail are valued.

Requirements

5+ years of experience operating CNC Lathe machines.
Proficient programming skills using Mazatrol.
Ability to read and interpret part prints and technical drawings.
Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
Ability to process precision parts from start to finish.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience mentoring others.
Knowledge of Mastercam programming.

Responsibilities

Mentor others in the manufacturing of high-quality, precision parts.
Create CNC lathe programs using Mazatrol.
Identify tooling needs.
Maintain precise inspection records.
Set up, program, and run Mazak CNC lathes.
Lead and mentor a team of CNC Lathe Machinists.
Inspect and validate your own work using precision measuring equipment.
Complete short-run jobs with frequent changeovers and tool adjustments.
Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Weekly pay: Starting at $38/hr and up depending on experience + 10% shift premium
