About The Position

UTRS Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM) is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to join their team. UTRS AM provides a wide range of engineering, management, and digital services to the public and private sectors, focusing on delivering creative, high-quality, technology-based services on time and within budget. This role is responsible for CNC turning operations and will be a key member of the team, supporting the mission of consistent delivery. The position is located in a clean, air-conditioned, well-equipped, modern shop in Robbinsville, NJ, specializing in short-run manufacturing of custom machinery and machine components.

Requirements

3 years of experience required
Good mechanical skills and experience
High standard of quality and efficiency
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Solid knowledge of shop mathematics
Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy objects
Must be a US Citizen
High School diploma required

Nice To Haves

Mazatrol - Fanuc programming experience
Any milling/other MFG experience would be beneficial
College degree not required but beneficial
Past or present military personnel are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

Program, setup, and run parts on 2-axis machines independently.
Perform OD turning, boring, threading, and profiling.
Complete in-process inspections using mics, calipers, thread measurements, and optical comparator for angles and overlays.
Inspect parts coming off CNC machines for visual defects and workmanship.
Interpret blueprints and apply beginner knowledge of GD&T.
Deburr and clean components before and after machining operations.
Maintain traceability on material alloys and raw materials being machined for each job.
Maintain CNC machines, including basic maintenance.
Maintain workspace professionalism.
