About The Position
This position involves setting up and operating CNC machines to produce tools and dies. The role requires knowledge of Master CAM, operating other machine tools, and performing various setup and finishing tasks. Additionally, the machinist will be responsible for machine maintenance, using measuring devices to ensure specifications are met, and reading technical drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is also required.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Tool Maker 3 years (Required)
- Knowledge of Master CAM
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift heavy weights, bend, stoop and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in various conditions such as extreme heat and noise level
Nice To Haves
- Apprentice certification or Journeyman license (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Setup, Load, operate CNC machines to produce tools/dies
- Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine
- Operate other machine tools like lathes, grinders, drills, and mills
- Setup die blocks on machine beds
- Setup cutters in holders and adjust height and length
- Use various hand tools to finish parts and check
- Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met
- Sharpen cutting tools
- Operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S)
- Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve tools/die assemblies
- Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specifications, and tolerances
