2nd Shift CNC Laser Operator - (4) 10 hour shifts

About The Position

APX is seeking a CNC Laser Operator to operate CNC laser-cutting equipment and other production machinery, or assist other machine operators. The role involves setting up lenses according to material type and thickness, loading programs, and adjusting machine parameters to support optimal equipment performance. The operator must understand shield gases used in laser cutting, monitor the bulk tank system’s fill level, and report when supplies need reordering. The position works in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities and an automated storage system. It also involves assembling items as directed by the shift leader or floor supervisor, handling materials and finished goods manually or with a hoist, and following applicable OSHA standards. The schedule is a second shift consisting of four 10-hour shifts, with some weekend work required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience operating Trumpf, Amada, or similar CNC laser-cutting machines.
Solid background working with sheet metal.
Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
Proven measurement skills and ability to convert between fractions and decimals.
Flexible schedule, including shift work and some weekend work.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

Apply knowledge of shield gases used during laser cutting.
Monitor the bulk tank system’s fill level and report reordering levels to the supervisor.

Maintain attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.
Assemble items as instructed by the shift leader or floor supervisor.
Lift raw materials, finished products, and shipment-packed items manually or using a hoist.
Follow applicable OSHA standards.
