CNC Laser Operator (2nd Shift)

About The Position

The CNC Laser Operator runs a cutting system capable of cutting carbon steel plate up to 10 inches thick and stainless steel plate up to 6 1/4 inches thick, with gantry-type machining center capabilities. The system can perform 360-degree contour beveling on steel, aluminum, and other alloy metals. The role is suited to someone who enjoys working on one-of-a-kind pieces and solving interesting challenges while producing quality products for customers. This is a second-shift position working Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The operator must be able to train on first shift for two to four weeks.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating cutting equipment in a metal shop, using a laser, waterjet, and/or plasma table.
Ability to work safely and cautiously, with care for people, equipment, and products.
Knowledge of large-material handling.
Ability to prioritize, make decisions, follow instructions, and recognize and adhere to quality standards.
Ability to work independently or with others, demonstrating responsibility and attention to detail.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance measures.
Ability to read and work from blueprints.
Strong math skills.
Ability to train on first shift for 2–4 weeks.

Nice To Haves

Crane rigging experience with large parts is a significant plus. The overhead crane system has a maximum lifting capability of 50 tons and a height of 31 feet.
