BSU CNA-Nursing Assistant (Full-Time)
About The Position
Seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to collaborate with patients and staff to uphold compassionate clinical care and clerical support. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the CNA assists patients with activities related to their individual daily-living needs, communicates care needs and changes in condition to the appropriate RN, documents patient responses and care activities, and provides basic care in a timely and courteous manner to promote physical and mental comfort for patients and families. Other duties may be assigned. The role is suited to an individual who is flexible, patient, and skilled in clear communication and critical thinking. The schedule is 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week.
Requirements
- Certification as a nurse assistant, completion of a basic nursing course, completion of Emergency Medical Technician training or certification, or completion of a hospital-provided training course is required.
- CNA certification is required for placement in Skilled Nursing Units.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- One month of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Students in other health care-related majors will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities pertaining to their individual daily-living needs.
- Communicate patient care needs, changes in condition, observations, and responses to the appropriate RN.
- Document information related to patient responses and patient care activities using the appropriate tool.
- Provide basic care in a timely and courteous manner that encourages physical and mental comfort among patients and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
