About The Position

Seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to collaborate with patients and staff to uphold compassionate clinical care and clerical support. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the CNA assists patients with activities related to their individual daily living needs, communicates care needs and observations to the appropriate RN, documents patient responses and care activities, and provides timely, courteous basic care that promotes physical and mental comfort for patients and families. Other duties may be assigned. This role is suited to an individual who is flexible, patient, and skilled in clear communication and critical thinking.

Requirements

• Certification as a nurse assistant, completion of a basic nursing course, completion of Emergency Medical Technician training or certification, or completion of a hospital-provided training course is required.
• CNA certification is required for placement in Skilled Nursing Units.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
• The role calls for flexibility, patience, clear communication, and critical thinking.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• One month of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Students in other healthcare-related majors will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities pertaining to their individual daily living needs.
• Communicate patient care needs, changes in condition, observations, and responses to the appropriate Registered Nurse.
• Document information related to patient responses and patient care activities using the appropriate tool.
• Provide timely and courteous basic care that encourages patients’ and families’ physical and mental comfort.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
