About The Position

Seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to collaborate with patients and staff to uphold compassionate clinical care and clerical support. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the CNA assists patients with activities related to their individual daily living needs, communicates patient care needs and observations to the appropriate RN, and documents patient responses and care activities. The CNA provides basic care in a timely and courteous manner that promotes physical and mental comfort for patients and families, and performs other duties as assigned. The role is suited to someone who is flexible, patient, and skilled in clear communication and critical thinking.

Requirements

• Certification as a nurse assistant, completion of a basic nursing course, completion of Emergency Medical Technician training or certification, or completion of a hospital-provided training course is required.
• CNA certification is required for placement in Skilled Nursing Units.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• One month of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Students in other health care-related majors will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient care needs, changes in condition, observations, and responses to the appropriate RN.
• Document information related to patient responses and patient care activities using the appropriate tool.
• Provide basic care in a timely and courteous manner that encourages patients’ and families’ physical and mental comfort.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
