CNA Nurse Aide (Jacksonville, TX)
About The Position
Visiting Angels of Tyler is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout East Texas, including Jacksonville, Bullard, Troup, Palestine, and Frankston. The CNA Nurse Aide helps enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with custom care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, mobility assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and accompanying clients on errands and appointments. First Aid and emergency-response training is provided if needed. Advanced training opportunities in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available for caregivers who want to broaden their skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and emergency-response training; training is provided if needed.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
- Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.
Nice To Haves
- Interest in advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
- Plan and prepare meals with clients, following applicable dietary constraints.
- Handle light housekeeping duties.
- Report health changes or unusual incidents.
- Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
- Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
- Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
- Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
