About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout the local area, including South Valley, Las Lunas, Belen, and Los Chavez. CNA Nurse Aides support clients’ wellness and enrich their quality of life according to individualized care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, assistance with daily activities, and support during outings and appointments. Visiting Angels offers advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care for caregivers who want to broaden their skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training in first aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
• Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
