About The Position

Visiting Angels of Longview is hiring CNA Nurse Aides to serve clients throughout East Texas, including Avinger, Longview, Jefferson, Ore City, and Gilmer. The role supports clients’ wellness and quality of life in accordance with their customized care plans. Caregivers may assist with personal care and hygiene, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, companionship, errands, and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in first aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple duties at once.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in broadening skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing applicable dietary constraints.
Perform light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
