CNA Hospice Aide
About The Position
Compassionate Care Hospice (CCH), an Amedisys Company, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide based in The Villages, Florida. The position requires daily travel within the assigned territory and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role provides personal and supportive care to hospice patients under written instructions from a registered nurse and in accordance with the plan of care. The listed pay range is $18–$19 per hour; final compensation may vary based on experience and skills. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant, in accordance with state requirements.
- CNA experience within the last two years.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
- Ability to travel daily within the assigned territory.
- Successful completion of the required Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse screening.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services to patients.
- Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics when assisting with ambulation, transfers, range of motion, positioning, and household chores.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as assigned.
- Perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
- Observe, report, and document changes in a patient's status; report to the primary nurse when unable to perform a task.
- Follow specific written personal-care instructions prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care, received before services are delivered.
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
- Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
