About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide for a Friday–Saturday–Sunday, 12-hour shift. The aide provides personal and supportive care to hospice patients, following written instructions from a registered nurse and the patient’s plan of care. Home health or hospice experience within the last 12 months is preferred. The posting requires a Florida CNA license and offers pay of $18–$22 per hour; compensation may vary by geographic market, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant, in accordance with state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
• Florida CNA license.

• Home health or hospice experience within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients.
• Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics while assisting patients with ambulation, transfers, range-of-motion activities, positioning, and household chores.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, as assigned.
• Perform homemaking and other environmental services, as assigned.
• Observe, report, and document changes in a patient's status; report to the primary nurse when unable to perform a task.
• Follow written personal-care instructions prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care; receive the instructions before delivering services.
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
