About The Position
Apple Rehab Rocky Hill is seeking a CNA Certified Nursing Aide for its 100-bed skilled nursing center in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The facility describes a warm, family-oriented environment, with private and semi-private rooms, resident activities, and a close-knit team. Apple Rehab is a family-owned and operated company with senior management based in Avon, Connecticut. The role provides residents with personal care and nursing functions as directed, documents care and other required charting, and observes and reports changes in residents’ conditions. Starting pay is $20 per hour. Shift differentials are offered for second and third shifts and weekends, with an additional $5.00 per hour for shifts worked outside scheduled hours. Listed shifts include 7 a.m.–3 p.m. for 32 hours or 16 hours, and 3 p.m.–11 p.m. for 8 hours. Benefits and requirements may vary by employment status and hours worked.
Requirements
- Hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
- Have no history of patient or resident abuse as recorded by the State Registry.
- Be proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Be a cooperative team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward residents and their support networks.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking, wheelchair use, and positioning in and out of bed.
- Document personal care provided according to facility policies.
- Perform directed nursing functions, including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, and measuring and recording temperature, weight, pulse, and respiration.
- Observe residents and report changes in condition, including skin breakdowns, to a supervisor.
- Report accidents or injuries immediately.
- Record all necessary charting entries.
- Answer all call lights, regardless of assignment.
- Respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations.
