About The Position

Autumn Embers Senior Living is seeking a CNA Caregiver/Medication Aide to join their team. This role focuses on person-centered care, providing assistance and support with activities of daily living to maximize resident independence while honoring dignity. The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments, observes residents' responses, documents information, and communicates any concerns to the Wellness Director or designated personnel. This role also involves supporting residents with personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health, while encouraging independence, supporting choice, and preserving dignity. The position is part-time, first shift, requiring availability every other weekend and every other company-recognized holiday.

Requirements

• Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with the state’s regulatory requirements and facility requirements.
• Maintains up-to-date medication certification requirements according to state regulations.
• Compassionate and empathetic in all interactions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Self-supervising, self-motivating; willing to collaborate and work as a team member.
• Adaptable and flexible; highly organized with ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands/tasks concurrently.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills.
• Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations.
• CBRF Class Certifications - Standard Precautions, First Aid and Choking, Fire Safety, and Medication Administration.

Nice To Haves

• Prior direct care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and requirements for safe administration.
• Observes residents taking medication, notes effects including any unexpected or adverse effects.
• Correctly documents required information in residents’ medication administration records.
• Communicates any concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, or designated personnel.
• Supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health.
• Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice, and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.
