About The Position

Designed to fit with the work demands of students undertaking summer jobs, this course enables students to work at their own pace to write and edit a legal memo, guided by online interim assignments that take approximately three to ten hours a week to complete. The course emphasizes applying feedback and reflection to continuously improve student work. The Professor leads students through an editing workshop and meets them individually to give feedback. A researcher assigned to the course to evaluate the effectiveness of asynchronous legal writing instructions is available to students to discuss any assignment.

Requirements

  • The Common Law Section is seeking candidates with extensive experience writing both predictive and persuasive legal documents and giving oral and written feedback on writing.
  • Candidates must be willing to use active learning strategies and provide extensive feedback on multiple assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching legal writing and experience as a mentor is an asset.
