About the position
As a Cloud/Devops Engineer II at LivePerson, you will be part of the Account Configuration Platform team and play a vital role in the cloud transformation initiative. Your responsibilities will include migrating puppet services to Kubernetes and GKE, leading the cloud transformation with a hybrid cloud approach, and building and migrating to cloud-native solutions. You will also be responsible for maintaining high uptime of mission-critical services, decommissioning retired services, and contributing to the team's on-call rotation. This role requires hands-on experience with GCP and Kubernetes, as well as experience with hybrid clouds and mission-critical distributed microservices architecture.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on migration of puppet services to Kubernetes and GKE.
- Leading the cloud transformation initiative with a hybrid cloud approach.
- Assisting in building and migrating to cloud-native solutions.
- Writing Infrastructure as a Code, porting services, and end-to-end lifecycle management.
- Using the latest technologies to solve unique problems for customers at scale.
- Working with fellow engineers and leaders for prioritization and estimations.
- Maintaining >99.999% uptime of mission-critical services.
- Decommissioning retired services gradually with zero downtime.
- Contributing to the team's on-call rotation and improving rapid-response coverage.
Requirements
- Several years of experience working in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with GCP and Kubernetes
- Experience with hybrid clouds (GCP, AWS, On-Premise Datacenters)
- Experience with mission-critical distributed microservices architecture
- Experience with one of the programming languages: Java, JavaScript
- Experience as DevOps, System, and Platform Engineer is preferred
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic about cloud transformation in engineering
- Experience with globally distributed teams in multiple time zones is a plus
