About The Position

The Clothing Clerk helps create a positive and uplifting experience for temple patrons by laundering, mending, and caring for clothing and linens used in the temple. The position typically reports to the Clothing Supervisor and provides guidance and direction to volunteers and service missionaries working in the temple.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of work experience, preferably in laundry, retail, customer service, or a related area.
• Ability to organize, lead, and manage volunteers.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
• Ability to focus and stay on task.
• Demonstrated and consistent excellence in customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to be teachable and follow instructions.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, and push; perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment; climb a step stool and/or ladder; and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial laundry equipment and prepare clothing and linens for temple use, including sorting, washing, drying, hanging, pressing, folding, and assembling items.
• Train service missionaries and volunteers in daily laundry operations and oversee their work and priorities.
• Courteously assist patrons with temple clothing in the proper sizes and ensure sufficient clothing is available; may oversee clothing rental operations.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment, including routine cleaning of machinery, filters, vents, and screens, and change washer chemicals as needed.
• Spot-clean clothing with appropriate cleaners and solutions; may assist with steam-pressing and other ironing responsibilities.
• May track and maintain daily production records.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
