Clinical Technician 1 - Emergency Department
About The Position
Inova Fair Oaks Hospital’s Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician 1. This full-time position works nights from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with varying days and rotating weekends and holidays. The Clinical Technician provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, communicates effectively with team members, patients, and visitors, and maintains professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system. The role requires availability for six non-consecutive weeks of paid training. Training includes two virtual orientations from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., six classroom-style shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., virtual training modules, and on-unit shifts. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
- Availability for six non-consecutive weeks of paid training.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and visitors.
- Maintain professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system.
- Complete the required training, including orientations, classroom sessions, virtual modules, and on-unit shifts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
