Clinical Care Technician - Emergency Department
About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Care Technician for the Emergency Department at Ft. Thomas Hospital. The Clinical Care Technician provides direct and indirect patient care to support a unit or facility as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN), participating as a member of the patient care delivery team. This is a PRN position with any shift hours. The technician collects basic laboratory specimens, two-hour troponins, and legal alcohol specimens; performs EKGs and two-hour EKGs with troponins; assists with lifting and transporting; takes vital signs; cleans and bandages wounds; and splints fractures. The technician also transports patients to testing, performs CPR on full arrests as a member of the code team, follows applicable procedures for specimen collection and EKGs, and assists nursing staff with patient care needs through frequent rounding and maintaining an environment conducive to care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to perform tasks such as taking vital signs.
- Knowledge of body mechanics.
Responsibilities
