About The Position

The Clinical Support Specialist is located at the South-Central Regional Office in Raeford, North Carolina, and reports directly to the Regional Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The position assists the ADON with healthcare auditing and compliance through reports, data gathering, and facility site visits. It also provides support to correctional facilities on accreditation, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and direct patient care within the LPN scope of practice under RN supervision.

Requirements

Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.

Documented experience supporting or obtaining ACA accreditation.
Documented knowledge of facility or healthcare compliance and standards.
Documented clinical auditing and healthcare compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

Assist the ADON with healthcare auditing and compliance through reports, data gathering, and facility site visits.
Provide onsite support to facilities that have passed or are preparing for ACA accreditation.
Assist facilities in maintaining healthcare compliance with PREA, health and safety standards, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
Support quality improvement initiatives and help implement improvement plans.
Deliver direct patient care within LPN scope under RN supervision, including screening, observing, and assessing patients.
Provide basic wound care and personal care.
Administer routine respiratory therapy and other treatments.
Perform catheter and colostomy care.
Collect vital signs and specimens.
Prepare and administer medications.
Administer and interpret TB skin tests.
Observe and record pertinent patient information.
Respond to medical emergencies and assist Registered Nurses and Physicians as required.
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with facility standards.
