About The Position
The Clinical Supervisor Telemetry, also referred to as a Telemetry Charge Nurse, Telemetry Unit Charge Nurse, or Tele Charge RN, oversees nursing operations on the telemetry unit. The role coordinates staff assignments, manages patient care, and ensures continuous cardiac monitoring is conducted safely. The supervisor serves as a clinical expert and team leader, handling emergencies, facilitating communication, and supporting patients and staff. This is a part-time position at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, with day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire and maintained current.
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and maintained current.

Responsibilities
- Assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload.
- Monitor overall telemetry unit operations during the shift, ensuring workflow efficiency and patient safety.
- Provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments.
- Interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identify arrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions or escalations.
- Serve as the primary resource for clinical issues, staff concerns, and resource shortages during the shift.
