Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for master's students in select residential and community-based programs. Placements are determined during the interview process based on availability, academic requirements, and the student's experience. The organization collaborates with students and their academic programs to develop placements that meet practicum needs and class schedules and can provide course credit. Internships are available during the fall and spring semesters, with select summer locations in Tennessee. Offers are extended on a rolling basis, and spots are limited. The Master's Level Intern shadows counselors in home- and community-based family sessions, carries a reduced caseload, implements interventions, and facilitates individual, group, and/or family therapy. Interns use evidence-based practices, attend weekly professional-development and clinical meetings, access clinical trainings, provide transportation as needed, and complete timely documentation in an electronic medical record system. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional to accommodate the availability of youth and families. Applicants must have a current, valid driver's license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance. Community-based staff receive reimbursement for applicable mileage. The hourly rate is $25.
