About The Position

Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for master's students across select residential and community-based programs. Placement is determined during the interview process based on availability, academic requirements, and the applicant’s experience. Youth Villages works with interns and their academic programs to design internships that meet practicum needs, class schedules, and course-credit requirements. Internships also provide professional experience and are offered during the fall and spring semesters, with select summer locations in Tennessee. Placements are limited and offers are extended on a rolling basis. The Master's Level Intern shadows counselors during home- and community-based family sessions, carries a reduced caseload, implements interventions, and facilitates individual, group, and/or family therapy. Interns use evidence-based practices, participate in weekly professional-development and clinical meetings, access clinical training, provide transportation as needed, and complete timely documentation in an electronic medical record system. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of the youth and families served. The role pays $25 per hour.
