About The Position

Youth Villages offers paid internships for master's students in select residential and community-based programs. Placement is determined during the interview process based on availability, academic requirements, and the applicant’s experience. Youth Villages works with interns and their academic programs to design placements that meet practicum needs and class schedules, including course-credit requirements. Internships also offer professional experience beyond academic requirements. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, for the Spring 2027 semester. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of the youth and families served. Pay is $25 per hour.

Requirements

Be actively pursuing a master's degree in a social services discipline.
Possess a current, valid driver's license.
Have an automobile for work purposes.
Provide proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

Shadow counselors during home- and community-based family sessions with Youth Villages staff.
Carry a reduced caseload and implement interventions.
Facilitate individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions.
Use evidence-based practices.
Attend three weekly meetings: individual, team, and clinical consultation meetings, to develop professional and clinical skills.
Access clinical trainings.
Provide transportation to various locations as needed.
Complete accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR).
Perform other duties as assigned.
