About The Position

This is a Per-Diem Clinical Liaison position (RN, OT, PT, or SLP) at Baylor Scott & White Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Select Medical & Baylor Scott & White in Dallas, TX. The role involves advocating for referred patients in the pre-admission process by collaborating with clinical teams to assess patient needs. The liaison will serve as a resource for healthcare professionals by fostering relationships within medical facilities. Utilizing clinical expertise and problem-solving skills, they will coordinate care plans with physicians and families, facilitate patient transfers, and address barriers to accessing specialized post-acute care. The position requires one weekend of work per month (two 8-hour days) and two days per week, with the possibility of working more. The pay rate is $46/hr.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Multi-state licensure is required based on geographical territory.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in handling the professional/confidential nature of health care sales.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of related experience working in a clinical healthcare setting or previous experience working in a clinical liaison role are preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency with the preadmission process, including assessments and relationship building in a rehabilitation setting or in another post-acute care setting, is preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing with at least one year of experience in a related position preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assume a leadership role in developing and nurturing professional relationships with case managers, physicians, and clinicians in acute care hospitals.
  • Educate staff, patients, and families regarding rehabilitation services provided by the rehabilitation hospital.
  • Assess patients with rehab diagnosis, on-site at referring hospitals, for admission to the rehab hospital.
  • Manage the referral process.
  • Create target lists of contacts and decision makers in assigned hospitals.
  • Develop relationships, provide excellent customer service, and educate referral sources on services provided by the hospital.
  • Demonstrate positive referrer satisfaction and account retention.
  • Educate potential patients and families on acute rehabilitation and the benefits of program(s).
  • Distribute collateral materials appropriately.
  • Support Sales and Marketing through educational programs, tours, meetings, etc. in assigned hospitals.
  • Develop strategies to grow market share in core business lines in assigned hospitals.
  • Create quarterly goals and objectives and submit to supervisor.
  • Work with VP/Director Business Development to identify opportunities for expansion of strategic business initiatives.
