About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a PRN Clinical Lab Assistant at Texas Health Fort Worth. The position is based at 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104. Work hours are on the first or second shift, primarily 4:00 AM–12:30 PM, with occasional evening hours. The schedule includes every other weekend and rotating holidays. The role encompasses specimen integrity, test procedures, laboratory operations, professional accountability, quality control and documentation, and safety. Texas Health Fort Worth is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the Fort Worth community since 1930. Its services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, neurosciences, sports medicine, emergency medicine, and several certified specialty programs. The hospital also supports a kidney transplant program and Graduate Medical Education.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (CLIAFE).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one-semester phlebotomy course.
PBT (ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred upon hire.
